Piers Morgan Presses Progressive Commentator Over Erika Kirk Attacks

Piers Morgan didn’t hold back Friday when he confronted progressive podcaster Jennifer Welch over her repeated public criticism of Erika Kirk, widow of the late Charlie Kirk.

Morgan opened by asking Welch directly whether she considered herself pro-woman. She answered yes.

“Okay, so, I want to talk about two women where I would quibble with your claim to be pro-women,” Morgan pressed, “because I don’t understand why you’ve gone after them in quite the way you have.”

Morgan then laid out the case surrounding Erika Kirk, referencing the pending trial against Tyler Robinson, the man accused in the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

“So, we have the case against Tyler Robinson moving to trial now… all the evidence is pretty overwhelming that he did do this and you’ve said things like… ‘Erica Kirk is a terrible person, I think Erika Kirk was married to a racist homophobe, a grifter, and I think she has picked up exactly where Charlie Kirk left off,'” Morgan said.

He pushed further, questioning how Welch’s rhetoric squared with claiming to support women broadly.

“Erika Kirk, I don’t know her personally, I’ve never interviewed her, but she’s a grieving widow who watched her husband and father of her two kids getting assassinated in front of her, right?” Morgan said. “It’s one of the most harrowing things of modern times, the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Do you not feel uncomfortable going after Erika Kirk, a grieving widow, in that way? How do you equate being pro-women with going after her and kind of going after her because of who she was married to as well?”

Welch didn’t back down, standing firmly behind her previous statements.

“Erika Kirk, no, I do not regret it, and oftentimes when I see what I’ve said, I don’t think I go far enough,” she responded. She went on to accuse both Erika and the late Charlie Kirk of “peddling racism, homophobia,” and claimed Erika Kirk has recently made comments about “white male men,” along with encouraging women to have children regardless of financial means.

Welch concluded with an unapologetic defense of her position.

“I go after Erica Kirk because she is an anti-woman woman,” she said.

The heated exchange, which aired on Piers Morgan Uncensored, highlights the deep and often bitter divide surrounding public figures connected to the Kirk assassination, with Morgan’s pointed questioning putting Welch on the defensive over rhetoric many have found deeply controversial in the aftermath of tragedy.
