According to a new poll released on Thursday, former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley is the only Republican presidential candidate leading in a hypothetical matchup with President Biden.

Haley beat Biden in the CNN poll, conducted by SSRS, 49 percent to 43 percent, while every other significant Republican contender is still tied with Biden.

No other Republican candidate, including former Vice President Mike Pence, Sen. Tim Scott (S.C.), businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, or former President Trump, shown a margin of victory over the incumbent president greater than two points.

When asked who they would support if Trump and Biden were to square off again, 47% of respondents said they would support the former president, 46% said they would support the current president, 5% said they would support a different candidate, and 2% said they did not plan to cast a ballot.

While just 38% believe the former president is superior to any Democratic candidate, 44% believe that any Democratic contender would be better than Trump.

The poll has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points and was conducted by SSRS from August 25 to August 31 among 1,259 registered voters.
