Laura Ingraham Blasts Frequent Fox Guest Mike Turner for Voting with Dems

Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), who voted with Democrats to defeat two amendments that would have defunded DEI (diversity, equality, and inclusion) programs in the Department of Defense budget, reportedly came under fire from Fox News personality Laura Ingraham on Thursday night.

Turner appears on Fox frequently.

By a vote of 30 to 29, the House Armed Services Committee rejected the proposals, with only Turner and Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) voting against them.

“[D]uring a mark up of the National Defense Authorization Act, Republicans – including my next guest – proposed changes that targeted diversity, equity, and inclusion programs,” Ingraham said.

“Now, one of the amendments Gaetz proposed was to get rid of the Pentagon’s chief diversity officer. Well, it passed, but he wanted to go a step further and eliminate federal funding for all DEI training. That amendment, he says, failed after Republicans joined Democrats to defeat it. Gonna name names.” she continued.

Right after welcoming Rep. Matt Gaetz to her program, Ingraham went on, singling out Turner:

“Congressman, we reached out to those two Republicans. And we’re gonna name them. Congressmen Bacon and Turner. Congressman Bacon’s office responded in part, ‘[One] amendment would have totally cut all diversity training for the military, which is unreasonable. All service members should know that racism and sexual harassment are not tolerated in our military.’ That’s a weak response.” she added.

Turner is a regular on the Fox network. He had already been on Tuesday’s America’s Newsroom and Wednesday’s Fox & Friends this week before being targeted by Ingraham.
