Meghan McCain Calls on Ken Paxton to End European Trips Amid Heated Senate Race

Meghan McCain is reportedly urging Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to put an end to his overseas travel with his “alleged mistress” as he prepares for what is shaping up to be a closely contested U.S. Senate race this November.

Paxton secured the Republican nomination for the Senate after defeating longtime incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the GOP primary, a victory that came with the endorsement of President Donald Trump. He is now set to face Democratic nominee James Talarico in the general election.

McCain’s comments came after a report published Thursday by Puck, which stated that Trump plans to deploy more than $400 million from MAGA Inc.’s political war chest to support preferred candidates in the upcoming midterm elections. According to the report, Paxton is among the candidates expected to benefit from that financial backing.

The report also noted that many polls at the time of publication showed the Texas Senate contest to be highly competitive, with Paxton and Talarico separated by only a few percentage points.

Responding to the report on social media, McCain argued that Paxton should focus on avoiding controversies that could distract from his campaign.

“For a start – it would be great if Ken Paxton would stop traveling to Europe with his alleged mistress and the photos of them together weren’t blasted all over The Daily Mail for the entire world to see,” McCain wrote.

Her remarks referenced recent reports involving Paxton’s travels overseas with Christian influencer Tracy Duhon.

On July 7, the Daily Mail published photographs showing Paxton spending time with Duhon in London on the Fourth of July. The publication had previously reported that the pair had also been seen together in Iceland during what it described as a “romantic getaway.”

According to the Daily Mail, Paxton and Duhon have allegedly been romantically involved since 2024.

The reports have drawn renewed attention because they surfaced while Paxton remains involved in divorce proceedings with his wife, Texas State Sen. Angela Paxton.

The divorce has been marked by public allegations, with Angela Paxton previously accusing the attorney general of being unfaithful during their marriage.

McCain’s criticism adds another layer of attention to a Senate race already expected to receive significant national interest. With Trump backing Paxton’s campaign and outside political organizations reportedly preparing to spend heavily on the contest, the race is likely to remain one of the most closely watched Republican efforts of the election cycle.

At the same time, Paxton continues to face scrutiny over his personal life following the publication of photographs and reports detailing his travels in Europe. Those images, widely circulated after appearing in the Daily Mail, have fueled additional media attention as the campaign enters a critical stretch ahead of the November election.

With the general election only months away, Paxton is preparing to face Talarico in a race that polling has indicated could be highly competitive. As outside groups reportedly prepare to invest substantial resources into the contest, McCain is arguing that the Republican nominee should avoid personal controversies that could become a distraction during one of the most consequential Senate races of the year.
