Bill O’Reilly delivered a blunt warning to Republicans this week, telling GOP leaders they must act aggressively on affordability — especially health care and insurance costs — or risk losing their majority in the House and Senate next November.
On his No Spin Zone broadcast, O’Reilly reviewed several new polls showing voter frustration over the cost of living. A Marist University survey found 57% of Americans want the Trump administration to prioritize lowering prices, while a massive Gallup poll of 20,000 adults revealed 90% believe they pay “too much” for health insurance.
“There’s no doubt about it,” O’Reilly said. “If President Trump and his administration want to hold the House and Senate next November, they have got to get prices down — insurance, health care, car, house — and food isn’t far behind. The opposition is hysterical, of course, but Republicans have to get on it.”
O’Reilly stressed that while he favors Republicans because they defend traditional American values — capitalism, law and order, and border control — he will not give them a pass if they fail to deliver.
“I’m going to be ruthless over the next 12 months,” he promised. “Republicans have the power now, but I’m not seeing a health-care proposal from them.”
He directly called out Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for failing to present a real, comprehensive plan addressing insurance premiums and soaring medical costs.
O’Reilly said Republicans must get serious about:
-
Lowering health insurance premiums
-
Reining in Medicaid and Medicare spending
-
Tackling problems created by Obamacare
-
Reducing the costs of basic necessities
“Johnson and Thune, the two big boys in Congress — you better get something going,” he said.
The longtime commentator explained that affordability, not foreign policy or scandals, is what will make or break the GOP in 2026.
Polling shows Americans struggling with rising premiums, surging housing costs, inflated car insurance rates, and grocery prices that remain stubbornly high. While Democrats have offered few workable solutions — beyond more bureaucracy and more spending — Republicans have yet to present a clear, unified alternative.
O’Reilly warned that GOP leadership cannot assume voters will simply reward Republicans for supporting border security, law enforcement, and free-market principles.
Voters want results they can feel in their wallets.
“Republicans have power now,” O’Reilly said. “But Americans don’t think affordability is being addressed. And that’s a problem.”
His message was unmistakable: with the Trump administration back in charge, voters expect bold action — not excuses — on the economy, insurance reform, and cost of living.
If Republicans want to hold their majority, O’Reilly said, they must deliver.
