Former President Donald Trump, according to a new report, is incensed with far-right activist Charlie Kirk for “causing problems” for the campaign’s efforts to win over African-American voters.
Sunday’s NBC News article featured the sentiments of a close associate of Trump, who declined to be identified, regarding the young conservative influencer.
“Trump is f—ing pissed that Charlie is out causing problems for him in the Black community,” the source alleged.
Kirk, who has recently questioned the qualifications of black pilots and referred to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a “myth,” has been criticized for, among other things.
Notwithstanding the recent controversy, Donald Trump Jr. refuted the idea that father was somehow angry with Kirk, saying that Kirk has “great standing with both my father and the entire Trump campaign” is “nothing more than fiction coming from people jealous of the close relationship Charlie has built with our family.”
Nonetheless, according to the report, a number of Trump allies have voiced their concerns to him regarding Kirk. Pastor Darrell Scott, an enduring supporter of Trump, publicly expressed his disapproval of Kirk.
According to sources with close ties to Trump, he was irritated with Kirk last year because the conservative influencer made advances toward Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who was preparing to challenge Trump for the Republican nomination.
