Karoline Leavitt, who served as President Trump’s White House press secretary, is heading to Fox News, where she will join the network as a contributor next month.
Leavitt, the only person to hold the role of the president’s top spokesperson during his second term, is set to begin at Fox on Nov. 1, according to a report from The New York Times.
She will become part of a growing roster of former Trump administration officials and allies who have landed at the network.
At Fox, Leavitt is expected to provide commentary and analysis across a number of the channel’s news and opinion programs, the Times reported.
The move caps a busy and eventful stretch for the former press secretary. Leavitt welcomed her second child this summer, and just weeks later she announced that she would be stepping away from the administration in order to spend more time with her family.
During her time behind the podium, Leavitt earned a reputation for her fierce defense of the president’s policies. She sparred frequently with reporters in the White House briefing room, standing firm on the administration’s agenda as she went back and forth with members of the press corps.
With her arrival, Leavitt will join another former White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, at the outlet, giving Fox two former occupants of one of the most visible podiums in Washington.
The connection between Fox News and the Trump administration has run in both directions. As he built his second Cabinet, Trump tapped a long list of former Fox News personalities and hosts to fill key positions in his administration. Among them are Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, along with others who made the jump from the network to government service.
Now Leavitt is making the move in the opposite direction, going from the White House to the network.
Her path to the briefing room began in New Hampshire, where she ran for the House as a Republican candidate. She went on to serve as the top spokesperson for the president’s reelection campaign, a prominent role that helped set the stage for her next assignment.
When she was selected to be White House press secretary, Leavitt made history as the youngest person ever to serve in the job.
Her exit leaves an open seat at one of the most closely watched posts in the administration. Trump has not yet named a replacement to take over the role.
For Leavitt, the move to Fox marks the next chapter in a rapid rise that has taken her from a House race in New Hampshire, to the top spokesperson job on the president’s reelection campaign, to the podium in the White House briefing room, and now to cable news.
Viewers can expect to see her weighing in across a range of the network’s programming, offering the kind of perspective that comes from having served as the president’s chief spokesperson during his second term.
Leavitt is set to officially begin at Fox News on Nov. 1.
