Fox News personality Tomi Lahren unloaded on the Republican Party Monday, calling the GOP an “utter embarrassment” while arguing that its failures have become so severe that socialism is beginning to look appealing to some struggling Americans.
Lahren, who co-hosts Fox News’ The Big Weekend Show and hosts the opinion program Tomi Lahren is Fearless on Fox Corporation-owned OutKick, delivered the blistering criticism in a pair of posts on X.
“Let’s be frank about it, some Americans are turning to socialism because Republicans have failed us so dismally that even the most destructive economic model imaginable feels palatable to people who are struggling to make ends meet and buy groceries,” Lahren wrote.
She made clear she wasn’t simply talking about younger Americans attracted to socialist politics.
“And I’m not talking about Gen Z brats who want to be influencers and wear Alo yoga, I’m talking about middle class working families who don’t indulge on luxuries and just try to make it with a little leftover each month,” she added.
Lahren followed up with another post taking direct aim at politicians supporting the ongoing U.S. conflict with Iran, accusing them of benefiting financially while ordinary Americans deal with higher prices.
“I’ll add, these politicians touting the Iran war and egging it on to never-ending status are most likely all invested in the military industrial complex and don’t give a rat’s a** how much you’re paying at the pump or the grocery store because they’re getting filthy rich,” Lahren wrote.
She then broadened her criticism beyond individual lawmakers, blasting what she described as the political “uni-party.”
“The uni-party is an abomination and outside of Rep. Tim Burchett [R-TN] and maybe a couple others, the GOP is an utter embarrassment,” Lahren declared.
Her remarks come as President Donald Trump has signaled a less aggressive public posture regarding the conflict with Iran.
Trump told Axios on Sunday that he is now “low keying it” when it comes to Iran and said his administration is “only semi-negotiating” with the Iranians.
The conflict has also come with financial consequences for Americans.
According to a Brown University estimate cited by NBC News in June, Americans had spent an additional $40 billion on gasoline since the war began.
Concerns about grocery costs have also increased substantially.
A late July poll conducted by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that 41% of Americans said they were worried about being able to afford groceries in the coming months.
That represented a sharp jump from April, when 24% of Americans expressed the same concern.
The poll surveyed 1,165 adults and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.
For Lahren, those economic pressures appear to be at the heart of her frustration with Republicans, as she argued that working families struggling with everyday expenses are being failed by the party — creating an opening for an economic ideology she considers deeply destructive.
