Former InfoWars host Alex Jones called Tuesday for President Donald Trump to be impeached over the ongoing conflict with Iran, arguing that the situation has spiraled “absolutely out of control” while claiming the administration is preparing for a national military draft.
Speaking during a live broadcast on X, Jones urged Congress to take action through its war powers authority, contending lawmakers have failed to properly authorize U.S. involvement in the conflict.
“The big issue is how to stop Trump,” Jones said. “And we have to have Congress go for the war powers. They’ve tried three times to vote on war powers—they’re supposed to authorize a war. This is a war; they’re getting the draft ready. If this isn’t a war, nothing’s a war. I mean, this is absolutely out of control.”
Jones’ comments come after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in March that President Trump had not ruled out the possibility of implementing a military draft related to the Iran conflict.
The longtime conspiracy theorist and former Trump ally escalated his criticism by calling for extraordinary measures to remove the president from office.
“And so I’m calling for it right now: 25th Amendment, impeachment, whatever needs to happen to get this front and center, to get control of our country,” Jones said during the broadcast.
Jones also argued that Trump’s backing of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) was itself grounds for impeachment.
The House recently passed the annual defense spending bill for fiscal year 2027, totaling $1.15 trillion. According to the legislation, the funding would help support the conflict in Iran even though Congress has not voted to approve the war overseas.
Some lawmakers have argued that the situation raises constitutional concerns and bypasses the requirements of the War Powers Act, a federal law intended to limit a president’s ability to initiate or expand military operations abroad without congressional authorization.
Jones pointed to earlier Democratic efforts to invoke the 25th Amendment against Trump over continued military strikes on Iran, saying those calls were justified in light of the current conflict.
In April, Democrats pushed to remove the president through the 25th Amendment over the Iran strikes. Jones now says those efforts were warranted because of his concerns about the direction of the war.
During Tuesday’s broadcast, Jones warned that an expanded conflict would have sweeping consequences for the country, claiming it would threaten both individual freedoms and the economy.
“They want us in a total war so they can censor and take our freedoms, nationalize everything, and push us aside with AI—total liability, immunity, and protection. This is a disaster. We are facing tyranny, but the public’s awakening,” Jones said.
He concluded by urging Americans to set aside political divisions in opposition to a broader military campaign.
“We’ve got to come together and transcend left and right, and we have to say no to an expanded war that will definitely destroy the economy and kill a bunch of our troops. They’re preparing a massive ground invasion. It’s all confirmed. This is going down right now,” Jones said.
