Trump Unleashes Endorsement Blitz in Indiana, Targets ‘RINO’ Lawmakers Over Redistricting Vote

President Donald Trump fired off a series of posts on Truth Social Wednesday afternoon, delivering what he called his “Complete and Total Endorsement” to six Indiana candidates while sharply rebuking six Republican lawmakers he labeled “RINOs” — Republicans in Name Only — for opposing his redistricting plan ahead of the 2026 midterms.

The president’s online barrage zeroed in on Indiana State Senate races, making clear that support for his redistricting proposal is a defining issue for candidates seeking backing from the MAGA movement.

Trump began by endorsing Bluffton City Councilman Blake Fiechter in a challenge against State Sen. Travis Holdman. In his post, Trump criticized Holdman for voting against redistricting in a district the president said he won by 39 points.

According to Trump, Holdman’s vote jeopardized Republican strength in Congress. “[Holdman], for whatever reason, voted against Redistricting in Indiana, in a District that I won by 39 points, which puts the United States Congress in jeopardy,” Trump wrote. He added that Holdman and his “RINO friends” made Indiana “the only State in the Country that essentially said they don’t care about what happens in the United States Congress.”

Trump argued that Republicans could have “easily picked up two seats in Indiana,” claiming the vote put the GOP House majority at risk and endangered what he described as “magnificent gains” made since returning to office. He referred to Holdman as an “America Last politician” and warned that such opposition could place the country “in a very dangerous position.”

The president did not stop there. In five additional posts, Trump used identical language to withdraw support from other GOP incumbents who voted against his plan. Those lawmakers include Jim Buck, whom Trump called “pathetic”; Spencer Deery, labeled an “ineffective RINO incumbent”; Greg Goode, referred to as “No Goode”; Greg Walker, whom Trump dubbed a “LOSER”; and Eric Bassler. Trump noted that Bassler “may not even run again,” and added that if Bassler exits the race, he is also not a supporter of “pawn” Krisi Risk.

At the same time, Trump threw his full weight behind a slate of challengers and allies. In addition to endorsing Fiechter, the president backed Tracey Powell, whom he described as an “America First Patriot”; Paula Copenhaver, calling her a “WINNER”; Brenda Wilson, identified as a “Successful Family Farmer”; Michelle Davis, labeled a “REAL Republican”; and Jeff Ellington, who Trump said “WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”

The endorsement blitz follows a December vote in which the Indiana Senate rejected Trump’s redistricting plan by a 31-19 margin. Immediately after that vote, Trump signaled that there would be consequences, warning of a “MAGA primary” against what he called Indiana “SUCKERS” who opposed him.

Wednesday’s flurry of posts makes clear that Trump is prepared to make redistricting a litmus test for Republican loyalty in the state. With the 2026 midterms on the horizon, the president appears intent on reshaping Indiana’s GOP landscape by elevating candidates aligned with his America First agenda and sidelining those he believes stand in the way of expanding the party’s congressional majority.
