Fox Anchor Claims Obama Engaged in ‘Seditious Conspiracy’ in 2016

In a striking development underscoring long-standing conservative concerns over the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation, Fox News anchor Kevin Corke on Friday reportedly pointed to newly declassified documents that he suggested may implicate former President Barack Obama in what he called a “seditious conspiracy.”

Corke, a senior national correspondent at Fox, responded to a network report with a post on social media that quoted directly from U.S. code.

“Seditious Conspiracy (18 U.S.C. § 2384): Defined as two or more people conspiring to ‘overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force’ the U.S. government or prevent it from carrying out its lawful functions,” he wrote, referencing language from the statute alongside a headline about new revelations tied to the Obama administration.

The report he cited, written by Fox News correspondent Brooke Singman, detailed a newly declassified set of documents released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

According to Gabbard, the documents reveal “overwhelming evidence” that senior Obama-era officials “manufactured” the narrative that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election to help Donald Trump—accusations that ultimately fueled the years-long investigation into alleged collusion between Trump’s campaign and the Kremlin.

“There was a treasonous conspiracy in 2016 committed by officials at the highest level of our government,” Gabbard said, as quoted in Singman’s report.

The documents, Gabbard claimed, point to a deliberate effort by then-President Obama and his national security team to lay the groundwork for the Trump–Russia probe before Donald Trump even took office.

Gabbard’s findings call into question the motives and conduct of one of the most powerful Democratic administrations in recent history.

The timing and content of the declassification are likely to reignite fierce political debate over the legitimacy of the Russia investigation and the alleged partisan misuse of intelligence services under the Obama administration.

For conservatives, the emerging narrative bolsters a long-held belief that the Russia collusion allegations were part of a broader effort to undermine Trump’s presidency from the start.

Yet for many on the right, the new disclosures raise a deeper, more troubling question: Was the Russia narrative shaped by political operatives under the guise of national security? And if so, how far up did the decision-making go?

Kevin Corke’s invocation of seditious conspiracy may be rhetorical, but the charge underscores growing conservative demands for accountability—and transparency—regarding what increasingly appears to be a politically charged chapter in the nation’s recent history.
