Governor Glen Youngkin Backs Texas in Border Dispute With Biden

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) sided with Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) on Wednesday when he criticized President Joe Biden and his “border czar” for ongoing issues at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Abbott sued the Biden administration last year to prevent the cutting of razor wire that the governor had erected along the Texas frontier to deter illegal immigrants.

“Virginia stands with Texas,” Youngkin said in a statement on X.

“Greg Abbott is doing the job Joe Biden and his border czar refuse to do to secure our border,” Youngkin continued

“The Biden administration has turned every state into a border state,” the Virginia governor continued. “We must stop the flow of fentanyl, save lives, and secure our southern border.” he added.

The Supreme Court vacated an earlier injunction against U.S. Border Patrol agents sawing through the wire by a vote of 5-4 earlier this week.

Abbott asserted in a defiant social media post earlier on Wednesday that Texas would proceed with the installation of the wire at the frontier.

“The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now. President Biden has instructed his agencies to ignore federal statutes that mandate the detention of illegal immigrants. Abbott’s statement reads.
