Trump Reportedly Leaning Heavily Toward Stefanik for his VP Pick

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) is reportedly under consideration by former President Donald Trump as a potential vice presidential pick should he prevail in the Republican Party presidential primary.

Prior to next week’s first-in-the-nation primaries in New Hampshire, Stefanik declared that she will be joining Trump on the campaign trail there.

NBC reports that Stefanik was mentioned as a possible vice presidential candidate at a dinner with Mar-a-Lago members in late December, where the subject of who Trump might choose as his running mateshould he win the presidential primary.

One attendee claims that when Trump was questioned regarding her potential candidacy, he responded, “She’s a killer.”

Formerly considered a moderate Republican, Stefanik served on the 2012 presidential campaign of Mitt Romney.

In fact, Stefanik is presently ranked 48% (or “F” in the grading system of Conservative Review’s Liberty Score), which places her above Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) but below Romney.

One of the actions she took in 2019 that drew criticism from conservatives was her initial vote in favor of the pro-LGBT Equality Act, which she subsequently renounced.

Furthermore, in 2022, 47 House Republicans, including Stefanik, voted to pass legislation legalizing same-sex marriage.
