Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, stated that the rift between his group and Fox News is still very much alive.
Kirk, an activist in support of Trump, formerly was a regular guest on Fox News. Subsequently, the most prominent figures on the network frequently headlined his TPUSA events.
It appears that the relationship ended earlier this year, as Kirk and Fox’s talent ceased to appear on his shows and participate in his events, respectively.
Kirk has expressed disapproval of the network. Kirk criticized Fox following the termination of Tucker Carlson from the network earlier this year.
Kirk commented on the schism earlier this week in an interview with Breitbart News.
Kirk reported that his TPUSA event sold 13,000 tickets this year despite the absence of Fox News celebrity support.
“I love Fox. They’ve been very good to me. I hope we can heal our relationship, because for whatever reason, it’s gone off the reservation. ” Kirk said.
“Since Tucker [Carlson]’s departure, I haven’t been on — and so, we had to do an event without Fox, and that was a great thing, man, because sometimes desperation is the mother of innovation, right? We kind of grew accustomed to — Jesse Watters, love him, Greg Gutfeld, love him — but that wasn’t a thing, we couldn’t do it, they’re not allowed to be here.” he added.
