Developer Linked to Impeachment Case Against Texas AG Arrested

Thursday, the FBI reportedly apprehended Nate Paul, a Texas real estate developer is implicated in the impeachment of state Attorney General Ken Paxton (R).

Paul was admitted into the Travis County Jail for a “undetermined” felony and is being held for federal agents, according to the jail’s records.

The real estate developer was central to the accusations against Paxton, who was impeached by the Texas House by a vote of 121-33 late last month.

Until his trial in the state Senate, he has been suspended from office.

Paxton faced 20 allegations of malfeasance in office, including bribery, obstruction of justice, dereliction of duty, unsuitability for office, and abuse of public trust, among others.

Regarding Paul, the Texas attorney general allegedly intervened in litigation for the developer’s benefit, gave him access to nonpublic information, received home renovations, and had him employ a woman with whom Paxton was having an extramarital affair in exchange for specialized access to the attorney general’s office.
