Chris Christie Claims Republican Candidates Afraid to Call Out Trump Directly

Chris Christie, the former governor of New Jersey, reportedly slammed the field of possible 2024 Republican presidential contenders on Thursday for being reluctant to criticize former president Trump.

“It’s like he’s Voldemort. You’re not going to beat someone by closing your eyes, clicking your heels together three times and saying there’s no place like home.” Christie said.

“He failed us as president based on what he himself told us in 2015, in 2016, what he would do when he became president. He failed us as a president on the promises he made to us.” he continued.

“He undermined our democracy. And the only reason he undermined our democracy was because he was pissed. He undermined our democracy because he was angry we didn’t reelect him.” he added.

The former Trump loyalist, who is thinking about running for president in 2024, has attacked the former president without mercy in an effort to set himself apart from other GOP contenders.

Christie remarked earlier this week that he doesn’t believe criticizing Trump is necessarily a destructive primary strategy, in contrast to the majority of other current and future GOP contenders who have refrained from criticizing the former president out of concern that it would later scare away his followers.
