Several key issues have saw Republicans gain ground on the Joe Biden led Democrats according to a new poll from the Wall Street Journal.

One damaging figure shows that 57% of voters remain unhappy with Joe Biden, but surprisingly voters give him favorable marks with the handling of the Ukraine crisis.

Protection of the middle class, education, and the covid-19 response saw Republicans gain massive ground on the Democrats. On education the lead went from 9 points to 5 and on covid the lead went from 16 to 11. But when it comes to protecting the middle class the Democrat’s 5 point advantage is gone, and Republicans are tied.

The top issue effecting Americans is the economy and voters give Biden and the democrats poor marks on the handling of the economy, especially inflation.

47% of voters want Republicans to handle inflation compared to 30% wanting Democrats.

Finally, voters say that Republicans, and not Democrats have a better plan to improve the economy.

All of these numbers could play a key role and tell the story of how the 2022 midterms play out, especially with control of the Senate and maybe even the House at stake.
