Iran Unveils Mural Threatening Trump as Regional Tensions Continue

A giant mural unveiled Wednesday in central Tehran is drawing renewed attention to escalating tensions between Iran and the United States after depicting President Donald Trump lying in a coffin beneath the words, “We kill Trump.”

The mural was erected in Tehran’s Islamic Revolution Square and portrays Trump with his hands folded across his chest while his face protrudes from a coffin. The display appeared only weeks after the funeral of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed at the outset of the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. During the funeral, crowds were filmed chanting slogans calling for death to America.

It remains unclear who commissioned the massive display, but its unveiling comes shortly after Trump publicly stated that he believes he is Iran’s primary target for assassination.

Speaking to reporters last week, Trump said Iran’s new leadership may still view him as its top target.

“Now they have another set of leaders. They may be gone. Who knows? And you know what? I may be gone too, because I’m their number one target,” Trump said.

He continued by describing the Iranian regime in harsh terms, saying, “It’s out all over the place. I’m their number one because they’re scum. That’s the way they act, and that’s the way they’ve done it for 47 years.”

The anti-American messaging did not stop there. Another mural displayed the face of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham on a gravestone decorated with devil’s horns. The accompanying slogan read, “Your dream of victory will be buried with you.”

The images were discussed Wednesday morning on Fox & Friends, where co-host Ainsley Earhardt reacted simply by saying, “Unbelievable.”

Co-host Lawrence Jones argued the murals reflected a pattern of rhetoric from the Iranian regime.

“Same thing they were doing the other day when they asked to bury the Supreme Leader and were calling for the assassination of President Trump, ‘death to [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu,’ ‘death to America and Israel,’” Jones said. “They continue to say they want peace and they want to open up the strait and they’re not bad actors. But when you see them in real time, that doesn’t look like a peaceful regime.”

The propaganda campaign comes as fighting and instability continue to intensify across the region. According to the article, the United States launched another round of strikes against Iran following Tehran’s attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Trump administration also reinstated a blockade on the strategic waterway late Sunday after negotiations over maritime security broke down. The article states that multiple cargo vessels were reportedly targeted by Iranian forces during the week.

Meanwhile, Iran has continued missile and drone attacks against U.S. allies throughout the Middle East. According to the article, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan have all been targeted as the regional conflict continues to escalate alongside increasingly hostile rhetoric from Tehran.
