Fox News host Tomi Lahren delivered a sharp rebuke of the Republican Party on Wednesday, accusing GOP leaders of failing to advance the policies they campaigned on and arguing that voters have little to show for supporting Republicans.
In a post on X, Lahren criticized her own party over what she described as a lack of meaningful action on key conservative priorities, particularly immigration enforcement and voter fraud. Summing up her frustration, Lahren wrote, “Vote Republican, get Democrat policy anyway.”
The conservative commentator’s remarks reflected growing dissatisfaction with the pace of Republican-led efforts on issues that have long been central to the party’s platform. Lahren argued that despite Republican victories at the ballot box, the results have not matched voter expectations.
Her criticism extended beyond broad party leadership. Lahren also took aim at Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin while questioning why Maine voters should support Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, in the state’s closely watched Senate race.
Lahren’s comments quickly drew support from former Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino, who publicly praised her remarks.
“So well stated!!!” Bovino responded to Lahren’s X post.
Bovino was removed from his post in January following what the article describes as a tumultuous period during which Immigration and Customs Enforcement was involved in two high-profile fatal incidents involving the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
Lahren’s criticism of the Republican Party came as Immigration and Customs Enforcement has faced renewed scrutiny following a series of fatal incidents involving immigration enforcement operations over roughly the past week.
On July 7, immigration agents shot and killed 52-year-old Lorenzo Salgado Araujo during an operation in Houston. According to the report, Salgado Araujo was not the individual ICE agents had intended to apprehend.
Another fatal incident occurred on Monday in Maine, where agents shot and killed 26-year-old Joan Sebastian Guerrero. Reports cited in the article indicate that Guerrero also was not the agency’s intended target.
A separate incident reportedly occurred in Florida, where a 28-year-old man from Mexico died after being struck by a truck in St. Augustine.
According to the report, ICE and Homeland Security agents had stopped four individuals in a parking lot. All four reportedly fled the scene. The victim allegedly ran into oncoming traffic, where he was struck and killed by a truck.
The Miami Herald reported that the Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
Lahren’s comments connected her frustration with the Republican Party to broader concerns over immigration policy, arguing that the GOP has not followed through on promises made to voters. Her criticism focused on what she sees as a disconnect between Republican campaign messaging and the policies ultimately carried out after elections.
The exchange between Lahren and Bovino underscored criticism from some conservative voices who believe Republicans have failed to fully implement their agenda. At the same time, the recent ICE-related fatalities have drawn additional attention to immigration enforcement operations, as multiple incidents continue to receive public scrutiny.
