Fox News host Mark Levin did not hold back in a blistering monologue on his new podcast, Liberty’s Voice with Mark Levin, where he drew striking comparisons between former colleague Tucker Carlson and some of the most notorious figures in American history.
On Tuesday’s episode, pointedly titled “American Traitors,” Levin said he wanted to frame his remarks within the broader context of American history, especially amid what he described as the potential for war with Iran. He also addressed Carlson’s recent actions and rhetoric, particularly what Levin characterized as Carlson’s treatment of the commander-in-chief and his alleged associations with hostile foreign powers.
Levin invoked the names of Benedict Arnold and Father Charles Coughlin, weaving their stories together with Carlson’s in an effort to underscore what he sees as a pattern of betrayal and internal subversion. Arnold, of course, is remembered for defecting to the British during the Revolutionary War, while Coughlin became infamous for his controversial broadcasts and divisive political influence during the 1930s.
In Levin’s telling, Carlson’s actions rise to a similar level of historical infamy. He accused Carlson of repeatedly “stabbing the commander-in-chief, President Trump, in the back,” including in June before the United States launched an attack on what Levin referred to as the Iranian regime’s nuclear bases. Levin described the regime as “Islamo-Nazi” and framed the military action as a necessary defense against a hostile threat.
According to Levin, Carlson has a pattern of undermining President Trump, not just in isolated incidents but as part of a broader history. He argued that Carlson has “coddled up to our enemies,” referencing foreign powers in Europe, including Russia, as well as adversaries in the Middle East. Levin further accused Carlson of attacking American patriots, disparaging the country’s culture and faith traditions, and engaging in what he called rabid anti-Semitism and anti-Christianity.
Levin also alleged that Carlson has engaged in lying, twisting facts, and leaking information to friendly media outlets. He said such actions have dispirited the American people, fueled division, and, in his view, undermined the MAGA movement, the Republican Party, and ultimately the country itself.
“I believe Tucker Carlson will be viewed as one of the great traitors in American history,” Levin declared, placing Carlson in the same historical frame as Arnold and Coughlin.
As his monologue drew to a close, Levin turned his fire toward Republican leadership, posing a series of pointed questions. He asked why Carlson is not being condemned by many leaders within the Republican Party, including figures Levin said are widely admired by conservatives. He also questioned why Carlson has access to the White House and maintains relationships there.
Levin went so far as to suggest that Carlson “seems like a foreign agent,” accusing him of pretending to be a defender of America while, in Levin’s view, dividing the nation in ways that benefit its enemies. He argued that hostile forces — whether communist, Islamist, or otherwise — thrive on internal division, and claimed that Carlson’s influence and access are tolerated because some leaders view him as useful to their own ends.
The fiery episode underscored deep fractures within conservative media and politics, as Levin made clear he sees the stakes not merely as personal or political, but as a matter of national loyalty and historical consequence.
