Texas Democrat Jasmine Crockett’s Campaign Spends $75,000 on Luxury Hotels, Limos, and Security While Preaching Fiscal Responsibility

Federal Election Commission filings show that Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, a rising progressive figure and frequent advocate for “fiscal responsibility,” has spent nearly $75,000 in campaign funds this year on luxury hotels, high-end transportation, and private security in cities far from her Dallas-based district.

The records reveal a pattern of lavish spending that stretches from Martha’s Vineyard to Las Vegas, raising questions about how a congresswoman representing Texas’ 30th District justifies such expenses while regularly decrying government waste and calling to “defund” police budgets.

Crockett’s filings detail $25,748.87 in campaign spending on upscale accommodations and limousine services since January. The hotel expenses alone include $4,175.01 at the Ritz-Carlton, $2,304.79 at The Luxury Collection, $5,326.52 at the West Hollywood Edition in Los Angeles, $1,173.92 at the Times Square Edition in New York City, more than $2,000 at the Cosmopolitan and Aria resorts in Las Vegas, and over $5,800 combined at Martha’s Vineyard’s Edgartown Inn and The Coco.

Her campaign also spent generously on premium car services: $2,728.00 to Chicago-based Transportation 4 U, $2,310.30 to DCA Car LLC, and $1,254.00 to Bay Area Limousine. On Yelp, Transportation 4 U even posted a photo of Crockett smiling during her Chicago trip, captioning it, “We were honored to provide transportation services for Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett.”

These expenditures come on top of nearly $50,000 her campaign has paid for private security—despite Crockett’s long record of supporting efforts to “defund the police.” As a Texas state legislator in 2021, she defended the movement, saying, “Defund is about finally being fiscally responsible when it comes to policing in this state.” She also argued the policy would “bring about healing” and “address the root causes of crime.”

The contrast between Crockett’s rhetoric and her campaign’s luxury spending has raised eyebrows, particularly as she positions herself for higher office. Crockett has told Politico that she is “seriously weighing” a run for the U.S. Senate against Republican incumbent John Cornyn. “I am seriously weighing it to the extent that I’m about to spend a lot of money to get data,” she said in October, adding that she has already begun discussions with a potential campaign manager.

Cornyn, seeking a fifth term, faces a competitive Republican primary against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Rep. Wesley Hunt of Houston. Crockett, known for her combative social media presence and sharp partisan attacks, could emerge as one of the Democratic Party’s most high-profile challengers if she enters the race.

Crockett has already attracted controversy this year for deriding Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who is paraplegic and uses a wheelchair, by referring to him as “Governor Hot Wheels.” Her office did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on the spending.

For a lawmaker who once championed cutting public safety budgets in the name of fiscal prudence, her own campaign’s luxury outlays suggest a different approach to stewardship—one marked less by restraint than by indulgence.
