Three Venezuelan Nationals Released Under Biden Administration Charged with Capital Murder in Texas

Three Venezuelan nationals, all reportedly released into the United States under policies implemented by the former Biden administration, have been charged in connection with a brutal murder and a series of violent crimes that have rocked a Texas community.

The suspects—Jose Trivino-Cruz, Jesus Bellorin-Guzman, and Yosguar Aponte-Jimenez—have each been charged with capital murder following the killing of a 48-year-old man at a Motel 6 in Garland, Texas.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that two of the men, Trivino-Cruz and Bellorin-Guzman, entered the U.S. via the controversial CBP One app, an expedited entry platform championed by the former Biden administration that has fast-tracked thousands of migrants into the country.

The third suspect, Aponte-Jimenez, entered illegally in 2023 before also being released into the U.S. by federal authorities.

Federal officials allege that the crime spree did not end with the murder. Two of the suspects are also accused of robbing and sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint in a separate incident later that same day.

“Three depraved criminal illegal aliens from Venezuela were released into the U.S. under the Biden administration and are now facing capital murder and robbery charges,” said Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security. “Thanks to the brave men and women of ICE law enforcement, these criminal illegal aliens’ crime spree is OVER.”

McLaughlin’s words reflect growing concerns among conservatives and border security advocates who argue that the administration’s immigration policies have made the country less safe.

“These vicious criminals have no place in the U.S.,” she said. “ICE has lodged a detainer to ensure they are removed from our country after they face justice for their heinous crimes.”

Beyond the Garland murder, DHS has linked Trivino-Cruz and Aponte-Jimenez to additional offenses.

Trivino-Cruz has reportedly confessed to two other robberies committed the same day as the killing, while Jimenez allegedly admitted to participating in more than 25 robberies.

ICE has placed detainer requests on all three men, ensuring they will be transferred to immigration authorities following the conclusion of their criminal cases.

For many, the situation underscores a deepening crisis at the southern border—one that critics say is not simply a matter of policy, but of public safety.

As the former Biden administration continues to defend its border strategy, this case is likely to reignite debate over the costs of prioritizing expedited entry over rigorous vetting.
