President Donald Trump reportedly took direct aim at Fox News contributor Jessica Tarlov on Tuesday, calling the liberal panelist a “real loser” in a post on Truth Social that aired just as she was speaking on the network’s top-rated show The Five.
“I can’t stand Jessica Tarlov of THE FIVE,” Trump wrote. “A real loser!”
The sharply worded comment followed Tarlov’s push for stricter gun control during a discussion on Monday’s mass shooting at a New York City office building.
Tarlov, who represents the left-wing perspective on The Five, argued that tougher gun laws could have prevented the incident. “You will never be able to stop all of the lunatics,” she conceded.
Trump’s blunt rebuke of Tarlov underscores his ongoing frustration with left-leaning voices given prominent airtime on the network that helped boost his political rise.
While many Fox News hosts remain strongly supportive of the president, Tarlov has frequently used her platform to criticize his policies and challenge conservative views — a dynamic that appears to have drawn Trump’s ire.
The president’s criticism also reflects his broader campaign against media organizations he sees as hostile to his agenda. Earlier this month, Trump filed a defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, another Murdoch-owned outlet, over reporting he described as “dishonest.”
He has also taken issue with some of Fox News’ polling and the presence of contributors who question his record.
Still, Trump maintains strong ties to many at Fox, where his administration officials and allies continue to appear regularly for interviews and commentary.
The network remains a key conduit to conservative voters, but Trump’s Tuesday post served as a reminder that he is not shy about calling out dissent, even from within friendly media circles.
