Laura Loomer Claims DeSantis May Replace Pam Bondi Amid Bongino Shakeup

Laura Loomer, the far-right activist and self-described investigative journalist, has now reportedly sparked political speculation after suggesting that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is under consideration for a high-profile federal appointment, possibly as a replacement for former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Loomer made the claim Wednesday on social media and during a podcast appearance, one day after she broke the news that Dan Bongino, a conservative commentator and former Secret Service agent, is weighing resignation from his role as a FBI Deputy head following internal tensions over the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

Loomer alleged that a “high-level reshuffling” is underway within key federal oversight roles and floated DeSantis as a leading candidate to assume a yet-to-be-formally-announced position, potentially filling a vacancy tied to Bondi’s reported exit from a government advisory board overseeing matters related to national law enforcement strategy.

While no official announcement has been made by the White House or Justice Department, Loomer’s comments have fueled intrigue across conservative circles, particularly given DeSantis’s recent moves to reassert his influence on the national stage after a failed presidential bid in 2024.

DeSantis, who has kept a relatively low profile in recent months, has neither confirmed nor denied Loomer’s assertion. A spokesperson for the former governor declined to comment, and Bondi has not publicly addressed reports of her departure. However, aides close to both Bondi and DeSantis dismissed Loomer’s claims as speculative.

Still, the convergence of political personalities—DeSantis, Bondi, Bongino, and Loomer—around this moment has underscored the evolving power dynamics within the Republican Party’s post-Trump ecosystem.

Bondi, a longtime Trump ally, has reportedly clashed with newer figures in the GOP’s media apparatus, while Bongino’s frustrations with the FBI have amplified anti-establishment narratives on the right.

Loomer, who has built a career on provocative social media tactics and close proximity to Trump-world figures, framed her scoop as evidence of her access to insider information.

“I told you yesterday about Bongino,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Today I’m telling you—DeSantis is being considered. Watch what happens.”

Political observers remain skeptical. While DeSantis maintains influence among conservative donors and voters, transitioning into a federal role would mark a significant shift for a politician who once branded himself as a crusader against Washington’s elite institutions.

For now, the rumor remains just that—unconfirmed, but emblematic of the speculation and intrigue that continues to animate Republican politics in the post-Trump era.
