Former GOP Rep Declares Support for Harris Ahead of Election

In a statement issued on Sunday, former Representative Denver Riggleman (R-Va.) expressed his support for Vice President Harris’s presidential campaign and cautioned that the return of former President Trump to the White House would somehow “create global chaos.”

In conjunction with the introduction of the “Republicans for Harris” initiative, the Harris campaign disclosed a list of prominent endorsements, including Riggleman’s.

Riggleman cited the riot at the U.S. Capitol by a crowd of Trump supporters on Jan. 6, 2021, as the basis for his endorsement.

“I’ve seen the data from J6. Trump & his minions are dangerous. The same folks who pushed J6 push Project 2025. A 2nd Trump term would endanger US citizens — and create global chaos.” he said.

Riggleman was endorsed by Trump in two distinct campaigns; however, he severed ties with the former president after the events of January 6.

The initiative was started by Harris’s campaign, which received over 25 endorsements from prominent ‘Never Trump’ Republicans, such as former Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, former Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, and other Republican lawmakers and governors.

Additionally, Stephanie Grisham, the White House press secretary during the Trump administration, and Olivia Troye, who served as the national security adviser to former Vice President Mike Pence, supported Harris.

The endorsements also included Christopher Shays (R-Conn.), Joe Walsh (R-Ill.), Susan Molinari (R-N.Y.), and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.).

Battleground states Arizona, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania will host the group’s inaugural events on Monday.
