Trump Calls for Indictment of Individuals on January 6th Committee

On Thursday, former President Trump expressed his anger regarding a federal judge’s order for his longtime ally, Steve Bannon, to report to prison.

He also called for the indictment of members of the House panel that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, disturbance.

Bannon and Peter Navarro, another former aide, were ordered to prison for refusing to comply with the congressional investigation conducted by the now-disbanded House Jan. 6 committee.

“The unAmerican Weaponization of our Law Enforcement has reached levels of Illegality never thought possible before. INDICT THE UNSELECT J6 COMMITTEE FOR ILLEGALLY DELETING AND DESTROYING ALL OF THEIR ‘FINDINGS!’” Trump wrote.

Trump referred to this as a “Total and Complete American Tragedy.”

In a Truth Social post, the former president asserted that members of the House panel had committed offenses.

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the former leader of the panel, has previously denied Republican allegations that the committee withheld information.

Trump’s post is the result of numerous interviews he conducted this week, during which he implied that his political opponents would be prosecuted if he were to win the presidency in November.
