Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley is not being ruled out by Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of former President Trump, as a potential running mate for the current Republican front-runner.
“Crazier things have happened, I don’t know, I would never say never with Donald J. Trump.” she said to Eric Bolling during a recent interview.
Trump, who is married to the son of the former president, commented on the forthcoming primaries in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, as well as the running mate of her father-in-law should he secure the Republican presidential nomination.
Haley, who during the Trump administration served as ambassador to the United Nations, has been gaining ground in the polls and is regarded by many as a distant second-place candidate in 2024 contests.
Despite her affiliations, Trump predicted she would likely finish second in her home state as well.
“Well, look, I think Nikki Haley has to be a little careful in South Carolina, that’s her home state. Probably Donald Trump is going to win South Carolina and Nikki Haley is going to come in second.” Trump said.
