Fox Host Brian Kilmeade Caught on Hot Mike Referring to GOP Congressman as ‘Dumba**’ During Speaker Vote

During a vote on Tuesday to determine whether Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) has the support necessary to become the next Speaker of the House, Fox News host Brian Kilmeade experienced an embarrassing hot mic moment during which he called a Republican representative a ‘dumbass.’

Most people supported Jordan when the clerk called the roll and counted the votes one by one, but the Ohio congressman was just over a dozen votes shy of securing the gavel, therefore the vote finally failed.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE), however, cast his vote for former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) when the clerk called out his name.

There was a long silence after Bacon cast his ballot, and Kilmeade’s audible “dumba**” was heard.

Bacon is one of the 20 Republicans who have persisted, despite the fact that McCarthy has subsequently endorsed Jordan and had previously backed unsuccessful speaker candidate and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA).

A meeting between Jordan and the holdouts is anticipated before a potential second vote on Wednesday.
