Michelle Obama Receives Massive $700,000 Payday for Speech in Germany

For a one-hour speech in Germany, Michelle Obama was reportedly paid over $700,000.

Near the yearly Oktoberfest beer festival, Michelle Obama spoke at a start-up event where it was predicted that 5,000 people would attend.

Since Barack Obama left office, the Obamas have made a ton of money. They struck a multi-year deal with Netflix in 2018 and received a $65 million deal from Penguin for their memoirs. Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, supported Obama, and from 2009 to 2011, his wife served as the president’s ambassador to the Bahamas.

In 2019, Higher Ground Productions, a business owned by the Obamas and dedicated to assisting authors with the publication of e-books, demanded that another business, Higher Ground Enterprises, abandon its trademark.

That amount the female Obama received is almost two times what Biden makes as president in a single year.

Oliver Kahn, a former German soccer player who is now an entrepreneur, was also one of her fellow speakers.

The three-day Bits & Pretzels conference features keynote speakers including Michelle Obama as well as founders of local, national, and worldwide businesses who share their success stories.

Three years ago, former president Barack Obama also gave the keynote presentation at the same Munich forum.
