Steve Doocy Claims He Now Believes Trump Leaked Infamous CNN Tape in Which he Discusses Classified War Plans

Steve Doocy of Fox News reportedly speculated that Donald Trump and his group could be responsible for the recording that was released and had the former president boasting about the confidential papers he unjustly had in his hands.

The newly-released audio of Trump from 2021, in which the former president appears to have displayed “secret” materials he conceded he no longer had the authority to declassify, was discussed on ‘Fox & Friends’ on Tuesday.

The program likened this to Trump’s attempt to refute what he was overheard saying during his interview with Bret Baier last week.

After its release. Trump criticized the tape leak, but oddly argued that it was “actually an exoneration” rather than an indictment.

“You know what? If Trump thinks it’s an exoneration of him, perhaps somebody on his side actually did the leaking to CNN and Maggie Haberman?” Doocy said.

“That makes sense,” co-host Brian Kilmeade replied.

“It does, actually, he’s admitting he’s got classified documents.” Doocy responded.

“…clearly, Mark Meadows has flipped. He has disappeared as chief of staff. He knows everything. And he seems to be in control of these tapes, you would think, or his biographer does in a book that nobody read.” Kilmeade said.

“Trump’s lawyers actually knew about this tape since March when one of Trump’s aides, a woman by the name of Margo Martin, was asked about it before an appearance before the grand jury, and then the government subpoenaed her copy of the tape. So the tapes are floating around on the Trump side.” Doocy added.
