GOP Governor Chris Sununu Shreds Trump as ‘Three-Time Loser’

Gov. Chris Sununu of New Hampshire, a Republican, was reportedly insistent on Tuesday that former President Donald Trump cannot be the GOP’s nominee for 2024 because he would basically ensure President Joe Biden’s reelection, which would possibly result in Vice President Kamala Harris taking the White House.

The well-liked governor, who is currently serving his fourth two-year term, spoke to Fox News’ Neil Cavuto after deciding not to run for president.

He said he would not support Trump in the Republican primary but might decide to support one of the other candidates before or after his state’s first-in-the-nation election.

“He’s separating himself from the field for all the wrong reasons,” he said. “[…] He cannot mathematically win in November of ’24. So right there, we’ve got to find another candidate and use Iowa and New Hampshire and some of the earlier states to really see who has the muster, who can deliver on a good presidential run.” Sununu said of Trump.

When asked why he didn’t run, Sununu responded that his current strength is winning over younger people and independents to support what he thinks will be a Republican ticket without Trump.

Sununu emphasized that he will not supporting Trump in the primary, claiming that the Floridian keeps using the “victim card” and favors looking backward over ahead.

He asserted that while Trump might be able to prevail in the primary, the general election would go to Biden.

In light of concerns about Biden’s wellbeing and mental capacity, Sununu suggested that Trump may be the one to give the United States a “President Kamala Harris.”

“Donald Trump wouldn’t even win Georgia. And if you’re a Republican candidate that can’t even win Georgia and would actually cost us other seats, then no, we have to take a hard pass at that. Because what it means is if you support Trump and he gets the nomination, Biden ends up the winner.” Sununu said.

“I don’t even know if Biden could finish out a second term. So what happens then? We now got Kamala Harris as president. Well, thank you to all the Trump supporters out there: You’ve just given [us] Kamala Harris as our next president.” He continued.
