Biden Administration Announces New Restrictions on Air Conditioners

Despite widespread criticism the Biden administration received after officials recently announced restrictions on gas stoves, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm reportedly unveiled new climate and efficiency restrictions on air conditioners.

These restrictions are aimed at improving efficiency while also reducing the impact on the environment.

The new energy efficiency criteria, which will apply to portable air cleaners and room air conditioners, will go into force the following year.

The Department of Energy asserted that the new regulations will help with tackling the climate problem and will save customers $25 billion over the course of the next three decades.

After this, the Energy Department disclosed future efficiency rules that would have an effect on about half of the overall market for gas cooking tops.

In contrast to the previous laws, which forbade maintaining a constantly running pilot light in gas stoves, the new regulations that are being proposed would implement a new norm for the maximum integrated yearly energy consumption of gas stoves.

In the United States, gas stoves are utilized in the kitchens of around 38% of all homes, with this percentage coming close to 70% in certain areas.
