Republican Council Woman Shot Dead Outside Her Home

According to authorities, a municipal councilwoman in New Jersey was reportedly slain in a shooting outside her house on Wednesday evening.

Mayor Victoria Kilpatrick praised Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, a Republican, as a “dedicated member of our Borough Council who was sincerely committed to serving all of our citizens.”

According to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, a 911 call reported shots fired about 7:22 p.m.

A female, identified as Dwumfour was then discovered dead in her vehicle with several gunshot wounds.

The shooting had no apparent motivation, according to investigators, however they also stated that they believe the shooting was targeted.

Dwumfour was elected to the Sayreville council in 2021 as a part-time EMT and business analyst.

She also volunteered with a Nigerian church and was a member of the Sayreville Human Relations Commission.
