Trump Reveals Surprising VP Shortlist During Bronx Rally

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) and Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), who have been fervent Trump supporters, were reportedly not among the four names that former President Donald Trump proposed for the position of vice president.

In an exclusive post-rally interview with Tara Rosenblum of News 12 New Jersey at Crotona Park in the Bronx, Trump did not mention either in his thoughts.

Trump made his initial remarks regarding former Ambassador Nikki Haley since she quasi-endorsed him.

He attempted to reconcile with her following what he termed a “nasty” campaign, but refrained from including her on his vice presidential shortlist.

Initially, Trump declined to “make news” and identify names when Rosenblum urged him to do so.

However, he subsequently dropped four names a few seconds later, including one Black candidate who is not Scott or Donalds.

“So if not Nikki, then who? Let’s make some news tonight. You and I, for your hometown TV station. Share with me. Share with me your top three candidates for your running mate at this point.” the reporter asked.

“Well, we have so many. I don’t want to do that, but we have so many. You could take people like Ben Carson. You could take people like Marco Rubio, JD Vance.” Trump said.

“I mean, there are so many. Elise is doing a fantastic job here. But but I could go on for quite a long time. We have many people that would do a really fantastic job.” he continued.

“Do you have a timeline on when you’ll make the decision?” she asked.

“Sometime during the convention?” Trump responded.
