IRS Whistleblower Claims DOJ Preparing to Retaliate Over Hunter Biden Investigation

Prior to his appearance before House members on Wednesday afternoon, “Whistleblower X,” an unnamed special agent with the IRS’s criminal investigations branch, reportedly posted his prepared remarks.

On Wednesday at roughly 1:00 p.m., whistleblower X and Gary Shapley, an IRS supervisory agent who worked on the agency’s inquiry into Hunter Biden’s tax issues, will give testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability.

“I have witnessed the corrosion of ethical standards and the abuse of power that threaten our nation. It is within this context that I have chosen to shed light on these actions and expose those responsible. I recognize that while I was present at the start of this investigation and was closely involved with the investigation for roughly five years —  that I am just a part of the story. My aim is to address systemic problems that have allowed misconduct to flourish. It is not a call for blame but a call for accountability and reform.” the whistleblower planned opening statement reads.

“I believe that the Delaware USAO and DOJ-Tax have a clear target on me and my supervisors back and I believe that they are just waiting for an opportunity to pounce on us. My own agency retaliated against me and threatened me with criminal conduct in response to an internal email I sent to IRS leadership, even after years of essentially being left on an island when it came to this investigation,” he continued.

Whistleblower X’s name will be made known during the session, during which both whistleblowers are anticipated to speak about their inquiries into the alleged foreign influence-peddling of the Biden family and the handling of Hunter by the Justice Department.

The informant said that he has been employed by the IRS since 2010.
