Trump Unleashes Lawsuit Against Journalist Bob Woodward Over Releasing Interview Tapes

Former President Donald Trump has reportedly filed a lawsuit against renowned journalist Bob Woodward for allegedly leaking interview tapes without permission.

Trump’s attorneys sued Woodward and his publisher, Simon & Schuster, for allegedly exploiting Trump by producing an audiobook of his discussions with Woodward.

On January 17, 2023, Simon & Schuster released “The Trump Tapes: Bob Woodward’s Twenty Interviews with President Donald Trump,” which is billed as an inside account of Trump’s presidency.

According to the complaint, Trump agreed to the interviews for a book but did not intend for them to be disseminated as an audio recording.

Trump’s team claims that they attempted to contact the defendants about their concerns however their concerns where not listened to.

Woodward is an American journalist and author, best known for his work as a reporter and editor at The Washington Post, where he, along with Carl Bernstein, led the newspaper’s coverage of the Watergate scandal which led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.

He has won numerous awards for his investigative reporting and has written 18 non-fiction books
